Last week, the EyeOTmonitor team spent the week in Barcelona for Smart City Expo World Congress 2025, the world’s leading event for urban innovation.
Held at Fira Barcelona’s Gran Via, this year’s expo brought together more than 27,000 attendees from 143 countries, 1,100 exhibitors, and over 600 speakers. The theme, “The Time for Cities,” focused on how technology can help build smarter, more resilient, and sustainable urban environments.
Meeting the World’s Innovators
Throughout the week, we met with integrators, city leaders, and technology partners from across Europe, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
The conversations were practical and grounded in real-world challenges. Everyone was focused on how to:
- Keep critical systems visible so that networks, cameras, and sensors stay operational.
- Detect image quality problems before they impact investigations or operations.
- Consolidate data from multiple systems into one clear, actionable view.
- Demonstrate value through measurable uptime and maintenance performance.
What We Heard from the Field
A European transport operator described how rain and low light were reducing image quality across their camera network.
A Latin American integrator outlined a plan to use EyeOTmonitor to combine device health and image assurance across several camera brands in one dashboard.
A municipal security team in Asia-Pacific talked about how their visibility challenges increase during large events when resources are stretched thin.
Across every region, the takeaway was consistent: smart cities depend on reliable visibility.
Where EyeOTmonitor Fits In
EyeOTmonitor is designed to bring network, device, and image performance together in one platform.
- ImageAssure uses AI to detect when camera views are blurred, dirty, or misaligned.
- Autodiscovery and policy-based setup make it simple to deploy across thousands of devices.
- Full-stack monitoring ties together devices, network layers, and VMS health for a complete picture of system performance.
Every day, thousands of cameras quietly fail. Not because they are offline, but because their images are unusable. EyeOTmonitor helps teams fix problems before visibility is lost.
Cities and integrators are using EyeOTmonitor to prevent downtime, streamline maintenance, and deliver reliable visibility where it matters most.
Looking Ahead
Barcelona reminded us that smart cities do not start with new hardware. They start with clear visibility and proactive monitoring that ensure every system is ready when it counts.
To everyone who met with us on the floor, thank you for the collaboration, the ideas, and the shared vision for what comes next.
If you are exploring how to strengthen your camera reliability or unify your monitoring across sites, we would love to connect.
